Cloud Cost Answers, Right Where Your Team Already Works

Quick gut check: if your AWS bill jumped $40K last month, could your team find out why without pinging one specific person? For most companies, the answer is no. That's the actual problem Archera AI in Slack was built to fix.

I kept thinking “we have heard this cost visibility, cloud tagging and attribution story one too many times.” For me, the game changing moment was when Aran began talking about reducing risk, proactive planning, and creating a secondary marketplace.
This is some text inside of a div block.

Without opening a single tab, do you know why your AWS bill jumped last month? Yeah, thought so. Neither does most of your team. That answer lives in a dashboard nobody has memorized, or in the head of the one FinOps or DevOps person who actually understands your cloud spend. Everyone else just Slacks them and waits.

The Actual Problem

Your cloud bill is one of the biggest line items in the company, and almost nobody outside of one team can answer basic questions about it. Not because they don't care. Because getting an answer means pinging the one person who knows where the numbers live, waiting for them to open a BI tool or the cloud console, then getting a screenshot back an hour (or a day) later, if you're lucky.

Multiply that by every "wait, did we already commit to that reservation?" or "why does this look so much higher than last month?" and you've got a team that treats cost visibility like a special request instead of information they should just have.

That's a bottleneck problem, and it comes down to a disconnect between teams: the people spinning up infrastructure can see the AWS bill up close, but the people managing budgets and setting spend targets are often several steps removed from that reality.

The Fix: Put the Answer Where the Question Already Gets Asked

One workspace admin connects @Archera AI to Slack once. From there, it can be added to any channel your team wants, and anyone in that channel can tag it and ask.

Two ways to use it:

  • Tag @Archera AI in a channel it's been added to and ask your question in plain English. It'll thread a reply right back.
  • Or open the Assistant side panel and ask it like a DM, with a few one-tap prompts to get you started (Top costs, Plan comparison, Expiring soon, Savings).

What You Can Actually Ask

"What are my top costs this month?"

"Which commitments are expiring soon?"

"Where can I save more on my cloud spend?"

"Compare my commitment plans."

And you get the same answer the FinOps person would've pulled from the actual Archera platform, not a watered-down Slack-only bot. It even remembers the thread, so a follow-up like "and what about last month?" keeps the context instead of making you start over.

One admin connects the workspace once, then adds the bot to the channels where the team wants it. After that, everyone in those channels links their own account and asks away, scoped to their own permissions.

The Bottom Line

Your cloud spend shouldn't require a middleman to understand. If your team already asks each other questions in Slack, they should be able to ask about the AWS bill the same way, and actually get an answer.
